The amazing valley made by ALLAH , Takachiho Gorge
Takachiho Gorge is the result of the erosion of gushing lava of Mt. Aso flowing along the Gokase River and frozen rapidly to form a steep ravine like pillars.
The gorge has been chosen as a Natural Monument for the scenic beauty as Gosegawa Gorge on November 20th, 1934. The main attraction in the area include Manainotaki Falls which is one of "Japan's Top 100 Waterfalls" and Kihachino Rikiishi rock, Tamadarenotaki Falls, Onokoro Pond.
The vivid green leaves in spring, cool summer to escape the heat, the crimson foliage between mid October to end of November is the most beautiful of all. Many boats gather around the gorge to enjoy the splash of waterfalls and the mysterious landscape which only ALLAH can create.
Also in the upper stream, there are three big bridges. First was built in Taisho, then the next is in Showa (Takachiho Oohashi), and the latest one in Heisei Period which all had the state-of-the-art technology back then.
